I. Company Details
Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang is a travel operator in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra/ Indonesia, specialized in operating sustainable and responsible travel services in Sumatra, Indonesia. Travellers can book package tours and individual travel services, such as tours, pickup-services, hotels via our disclosed Agent Sumatra EcoTravel in Augsburg/ Germany.
Our team in Bukit Lawang will operate the travel services or organise further services provided by third parties.
II. Contracting
1. With help of the travel agency Sumatra EcoTravel the client can combine different individual travel services. Sumatra EcoTravel will act as disclosed agent and will carry out all necessary communication and bookings.
2. The client will receive an obligatory offer by e-mail, rendered by Sumatra EcoTravel, including all tour and travel details, prices and fees. If the client declares acceptance of the offer by e-mail the contract with the operator is concluded.
After accepting the offer the client will receive a confirmation. A confirmation will not be sent, if the booking is placed within 7 days prior to departure.
3. If the confirmation differs from the offer, the confirmation shall be regarded as a new offer. If the client declares acceptance of this new offer, by e-mail or by paying the deposit, the scope of contractual services is regulated by the specifications in the confirmation.
Please note: Our disclosed agent, Sumatra EcoTravel, does not assume any responsibility for the travel products and services provided by the tour operator and makes no representations or warranties (express or implied) about the suitability or quality of travel products and services featured on our website. Sumatra EcoTravel is not a party to the contractual relationship. Any queries or concerns relating to the product should be addressed to the tour operator.
III. Payment / Documents
1. After contracting a deposit of 20 – 100% of the tour price, as stated in the confirmation, is payable. The deposit shall be made in Euro or IDR.
Credit card payment is possible through our website (PayPal service). You can use Visa, Mastercard and several other cards. Just click the “Pay now” button on the right hand bottom of our homepage and follow the instructions through our safe payment service!
Deposits can be made by money transfer into the account of our mentioned bank in Sumatra / Indonesia:

The final payment (i.e. full price minus deposit) is due upon arrival in Bukit Lawang in Indonesian Rupia and payable to the operator. If payment in Indonesian Rupia is not possible, payment can be made by credit card as an exception. Please note that in case of payment by credit card an additional fee of 3% of the tour price will be charged.
The difference to 100% of the price will be charged in time of arrival in Bukit Lawang in Indonesian Rupia by the operator. If the payment in Indonesian Rupia is not possible, payment by credit card can be made as an exception. Please note, that in case of payment by credit card an additional fee of 3% of the tour price will be charged.
2. If the client doesn’t pay the deposit in time, the operator is entitled to terminate the contract without notice or to refuse carrying out the travel services.
3. If any docuements are required, the client will receive these after the full price is payed.
IV. Cancellation / Changes
1. Cancellation by client
Cancellations can be made at any time prior to arrival or in case of hotel bookings prior to check-in. Cancellations have to be declared by e-mail. Phone calls will not be accepted.
The following refunds of the tour price will be made according to the time when the cancellation is declared:

As defined by the day of receipt of the cancellation e-mail.
No refunds will be made, if the client doesn’t participate without cancellation, unless this is caused by a violation of contractual duties of the operator.
The client is entitled to prove that no damage or lesser damage is caused by the cancellation.
2. Changes by client
Changes to the tour date/ time/ route, if possible at all, can take place up to six weeks prior to arrival without a fee being charged. For later changes a fee of 20,00 Euro will be charged by Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang.
A change of the traveller’s name (i.e. another person travelling) can only take place if the participation is not bound to the approval of local authorities.
Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang strongly recommends personal and travel insurance to cover accidents, injury or loss of personal property.
3. Changes or Cancellations by Bukit Lawang EcoTravel
Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang is entitled to cancellations in case of violation of liabilities to pay by the client. In this case refunds will be made according to clause 3.1.
If, for any reason outside the control of the operator, tours, tour packages or travel services cannot be operated, especially in case of unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, political situations, epidemics and others, the operator is entitled to carry out changes in services. The operator shall immediately inform the client. If changes are not possible or unreasonable, the operator or the client are entitled to cancellation. The client will receive a full refund of the tour price.
V. Restrictions to Liability
1. To the maximum extent permitted by law the liability is limited to an amount of 300% of the tour price. There is no restriction of liability for damages caused through intention or culpable negligence and for death or personal injury.
The operator recommends personal and travel insurance to cover accidents, injury or loss of personal property.
2. The operator is not liable for any damages or injuries suffered in consequence of anything, howsoever caused, in connection with services carried out by third parties or arising from the use of accommodation or transportation or other service, or for labour strike, political unrest, weather conditions or natural disasters which are beyond their control.
Please be aware that by booking travel services the client confirms that his state of health complies with the travel requirements and that the client doesn’t suffer from any cardiac diseases and/or circulatory disorders. If any diseases are known to the client, the client shall consult a physician and get permission to participate. The tours operated can be very strenuous and therefore cause danger to persons suffering from cardiac or circulatory disorders.
A health check with your doctor is an absolute necessity before travelling to the Sumatran jungle and lies within the responsibility of each client!
VI. Clients’ Duties
1. By booking travel services the client confirms that his state of health complies with the travel requirements and that the client doesn’t suffer from any cardiac diseases and/or circulatory disorders. If any diseases are known to the client, the client shall consult a physician and get permission to participate. The tours operated can be very strenuous and therefore cause danger to persons suffering from cardiac or circulatory disorders.
2. If the client wishes to file a claim or an action regarding insufficient services, he must complain immediately, otherwise any rights shall be extinguished, except the client is not responsible for the delay of complaint.
3. A health check with your doctor is an absolute necessity before travelling to the Sumatran jungle and lies within the responsibility of each client.
VII. Time limitations on claims and actions
1. All services are to be carried out/ operated in Bukit Lawang/ Sumatra.
2. Any right to insufficient services shall be extinguished if a complaint is not filed within one month of the date the service has ended.
3. Any right to damages or insufficient services shall be extinguished if an action is not brought within one year of the date the service has ended.
VIII. Travel Documentation
It is each client’s personal responsibility to ensure that he or she has valid travel documentation which meets the requirements of immigration and other authorities in Indonesia.
The client is responsible for obtaining all required travel documents and visas and for complying with all laws, regulations, orders, demands and travel requirements of Indonesia. Prior to travel the client must present all entry, exit, health and other documents required by law. The client will be responsible to pay any fine or charge assessed by the Government concerned. The client is responsible for obtaining all necessary information on regulations, laws and travel requirements.
Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of breach of these requirements shall be paid by or charged to the client.
IX.
If any of these terms and conditions do not correspond with laws and regulations of Indonesia or International Treaties it shall be replaced by the corresponding regulation of the law concerned.

Sumatra EcoTravel is a travel agency specialized on the arrangement of sustainable and responsible individual travel in the region around Gunung Leuser National Park, Sumatra.
II. Tour Operator
Sumatra EcoTravel acts as disclosed agent for the tour operator Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang (PT. Sumatra EcoWisata Bukit Lawang). When you make a booking via Sumatra EcoTravel the contract will be between the tour operator Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang, owned by Mr Jasanta Sitepu, Jln Besar Orangutan, Bukit Lawang, Bohorok, KAB Langkat, North Sumatra, Indonesia (Postcode 20774). Sumatra EcoTravel is not a party to the contractual relationship. Any queries or concerns relating to the product should be addressed to the tour operator. The contract details, terms and conditions, for the tour operator can be seen in the confirmation e-mail or on our website.

III. Tour Operator Conditions
The following applies to all products or services booked via our website:
The tour operator’s terms and conditions and the specifications in the tour confirmation will apply in addition to those set out here. The tour operator’s terms and conditions may include provisions relating to payment procedures, default, liability, cancellations, changes of bookings and refunds (if available) and any other restrictions.
1. Contracting
You can choose out of and combine different tours and packages offered by the operator Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang presented on our website. By e-mail you shall ask for the availability of tours and packages at the requested time. You will then receive a noncommittal proposition which you confirm by e-mail, if no changes are necessary. Sumatra EcoTravel will then check availability with the tour operator and forward the obligatory offer of the tour operator, including all tour and travel details, prices and fees. If the client declares acceptance of the offer by e-mail the contract with the tour operator is concluded.
Sumatra EcoTravel acts as disclosed agent for the tour operator. Sumatra EcoTravel exclusively carries out all necessary online communication and bookings. In addition Sumatra EcoTravel is entitled to collect the tour price deposit on behalf and for the account of the tour operator.
2. Payment
2.1. Prices
All prices displayed in the offer include value added tax (VAT).
2.2. Deposit / Tour Price
According to the terms and conditions of the tour operator, a deposit of 20 – 100 % of the tour price is payable after the contract is concluded.
The deposit shall be made in Euro or IDR.

Further daytrips and adventure tours can be booked and payed in Sumatra if there is capacity. The daily exchange rate is used for all calculations.
3. Cancellation / Changes

IV. Liability
As travel agency and disclosed Agent, Sumatra EcoTravel is, to the maximum extent permitted by law, not liable for any damage, injury, loss, delay, expense, inconvenience or otherwise suffered as a consequence of anything, howsoever caused, in connection with the provision and carrying out of the tour and the rendered contractual travel services.
The client is responsible for obtaining all required travel documents and visas and for complying with all laws, regulations, orders, demands and travel requirements of Indonesia. Prior to travel the client must present all entry, exit, health and other documents required by law. The client will be responsible to pay any fine or charge assessed by the Government concerned. The client is responsible for obtaining all necessary information on regulations, laws and travel requirements. Citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany can obtain all information needed at the Auswärtiges Amt or on the internet through www.auswaertiges-amt.de
There is no restriction of liability if damages are caused by culpable violation of contractual duties by Sumatra EcoTravel.
Liability is limited to damages caused trough intention or culpable negligence, except for death or personal injury.

V. Information
1. As travel agency Sumatra EcoTravel is obliged to render the travel services and all required information carefully.
2. Sumatra EcoTravel is not liable for the accuracy of any information given by third parties especially the tour operator. Sumatra EcoTravel is only liable for the accurate passing on of information.
VI.
If any of these terms and conditions do not correspond with laws and regulations of Indonesia or international treaties it shall be replaced by the corresponding regulation of the law concerned.
