Bat Cave Walk (3-Hour Tour) / Local Friday Market (2-Hour Tour)
These are two fantastic tour options to discover the village of Bukit Lawang and its near surroundings. First you will walk downstream along Bohorok River for about half an hour, passing the village centre with its small tourist shops. Our Bat Cave Walk will then take you out of the village to green surroundings, heading towards Landak River. The cave features three “rooms” full of stalagmites and stalactites. Joining our tour to the local Friday Market you will walk along irrigation canals to the village of Gotong Royong where the local market takes place. This is where villagers sell rubber, fruit and vegetable, chicken, fish and all basic day-to-day provisions. These two short tours can be organized separately or as a combination.
